As a Nigerian-American, I pride myself in knowing the importance of community—big and small. 2020 will be my sixth year as a My Hair My Health PDX! committee member. Seeing Black women unite to create something meaningful to our community is magical and rewarding on many levels.

JOYCE SENIOR, PHD

NUTRITION EDUCATION PROGRAM COORDINATOR, OREGON STATE UNIVERSITY

Proud AfroLatina, born and raised in Costa Rica. She received her B.S. in Human Nutrition from University of Costa Rica in 2010 and a PhD in Food Technology from Clemson University in 2015. She has lived in Oregon since 2016, and thanks to her role at OSU she became part of the planning committee for My Hair My Health PDX! which has allowed her to connect her passion for nutrition education with her desire to serve and uplift the African Heritage communities across Oregon.

LASHANDA FRIEDRICH

HEALTH SYSTEMS INTERGRATIONS SPECIALIST- MATERNAL & CHILD HEALTH, OREGON HEALTH AUTHORITY

LaShanda Friedrich, MPH, CSMC is the Health Systems Integration Specialist with Maternal and Child Health at Oregon Health Authority. She has been a part of the My Hair, My Health PDX! planning committee since 2016. In her abundant free time, she enjoys traveling with her husband, cuddling with her cat Gabrielle, working out, indulging in self-care and sitting in quiet introspection.

DELLA RAE

DIRECTOR, OREGON WOMEN'S HEALTH NETWORK

Della Rae is the Director of The Oregon Women’s Health Network (OWHN), a trusted women’s empowerment agency & purveyors of #RealTalk. For over twelve years, she has been committed to advancing women’s self-agency as an advocate, event producer, and author of “Little Book of Self-Care.”

LILAH WALSH

EDUCATION PROGRAM ASSISTANT, OREGON STATE UNIVERSITY

Lilah has worked in human services for twenty years, prioritizing the leadership of the community members she serves. Lilah studied Dance at Cabrillo College and Politics at the University of California, Santa Cruz. She currently organizes opportunities for culturally specific food system reconstruction and healthy movement through her position as Education Program Assistant at Oregon State University Extension.
